What have we learnt in this week? Now I would describe some of it. We had gone through the Morphology – word structure and word formation processes. There were six types of words which can be formed or expanded by the various morphological processes possible in a language. The examples which given by our lecturer in the slide show made I understand it very well. If the examples did not give in the slide show, it was difficult for me to identify each of the word formation processes.
In the class, our lecturer asked us to give more examples of each type of word formation processes. I could give some of the words correctly to our lecturer because I understood it. I felt happy when I could get correct answers.
In spite of that, my group members also presented the initial, median and phoneme differences. Some of the pronunciation initial, median and phoneme were difficult and we were helped by our lecturer how to pronounce it correctly. Even we did some of the differences wrongly, but our lecturer did not scold us. We felt very lucky because we had such understanding and helpful lecturer. Our lecturer also praised my group members for doing a good job because we gave many examples in our initial, medial and phoneme.
Lastly, our lecturer encouraged us to finish our coursework earlier. In topic 4, we learnt the topic of Syntax. We just learnt some of it, next week we would learnt more. I felt happy because we could finish our syllabus soon. As our lecturer knew that she would be busy when the OUM teachers coming, so she had planned the time very well to finish our syllabus first. Lastly, we were asked to conduct language games on word formation (example, compound words, stems and affixes). I hoped that other groups would like the language game which created by our group members.
